A warm welcome to the Russian Culture site on BellaOnline! I’m a first-generation Russian-American that started kindergarten without speaking English. I only spoke Russian, but wasn’t alone in this dilemma: a few of my classmates didn’t speak English, either. How was this possible? Well, our parents were a part of the massive exodus of humanity, post WWII, that arrived in America in search of a better life.

Adapting to mainstream life proved to be a balancing act and I lived in two cultures: the American and the Russian. I spent thirteen years of Saturdays studying the Russian language, history, and arts in Russian School, sang in the church choir, took ballet and studied piano. Nevertheless, I always found the time to read and write in my diary.

I graduated with a BS in Clinical Laboratory Science and have had varied careers, including retail, the medical arena and the financial services industry in a Fortune 500 company, but I especially enjoy writing! I´m putting the finishing touches on my first books.

My simple philosophy is this: every day is the best day of life!

I’m delighted that I’ve been given the opportunity to share with you my knowledge of Russian culture. I hope that the journey of exploration we undertake together will be informative and entertaining.
