We have springtime that brings colorful blossoms and gives a feeling of rebirth. Warm summer days are filled with camping, cycling and outdoors concerts or festivals. During the summer, my husband and I enjoy cycling down the country roads and taking in the rich, green farmlands. We also like to drive through small towns and look at the older homes that have a lot to offer aesthetically.
When the fall season rolls around I look forward to wearing my fleece, sweaters and sweatshirts when I go outside to enjoy the crisp, cool weather. The orchards have apple trees hanging heavy with fruit waiting to be picked. A few months later, snowflakes begin to fall and we are challenged with long, cold winters that are enjoyable to some and unbearable to others. It doesn’t get any better than this.
I look forward to writing about the Great Lakes region’s rich history, nature, people and the many activities and events that go on throughout the year.
