Travel became a passion for me at a very young age when our parents took the family on four-week camping trips all over the U.S. In the years since I have expanded my travels all over the globe, and have spent time on all seven continents. Throughout those travels I have always felt happiest when close to water – whether it be a rippling brook in a verdant forest, a clear blue lake reflecting the mountains, or the crashing surf upon a beach. But best of all is when I can actually be submerged in the water, scuba diving. And you can’t beat tropical islands all over the world for scuba adventures!
My interest in islands, though, extends well beyond just tropical paradises. I’ve explored the history of the Ainu culture on Hokkaido, the northernmost of the primary Japanese islands; taken hundreds of pictures of the adorable chinstrap penguins on Deception Island in the Antarctic Peninsula; marveled at the blue and white glory of the Greek island of Santorini…… well, I could go on and on!
So I’m excited to be able to share with you some of the wonders of islands all over the world, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts and questions as well.
