Serenity is a movie I enjoyed immensely. It has lots of action, loads of laughs and very likable characters. And besides, who doesn’t like Nathan Fillion? With his boyish good looks and gorgeous body looking at him is half the movie. After getting so attached to the TV series FireFly, liking Serenity was an easy task. But, like all movies it has its mistakes. But then what did you expect when you combine a cast and crew as fun loving and as full of practical jokes as the one from Serenity.

About 20 minutes into the movie they land on a planet to rob the town’s payroll. Upon entering the safe, in which Jane, played by Adam Baldwin, fires his semi automatic to use as the password, Captain Reynolds, played by Nathan Fillion, Zoë, played by Gina Torres and Jane proceed down the stairs.

Shortly after they enter the vault Jane hears River, played by Summer Glau, scream and he runs back upstairs to her aid. He finds River lying on the floor, and as he leans towards her she whispers the one thing that scares Jane the most, Reavers. Jane quickly collects himself and runs to tell the Captain of the danger that awaits them. As he tells the Captain of the impending doom we see Zoë run past the Captain from behind.

As Captain Reynolds commands the young guard, played by Chuck O’Neal, to lock everyone in the vault to save their lives we see a second Zoë run past the Captain. Are there two of Zoë? Hardly, but someone forgot that she had already made her escape and she escaped again. The first time I had seen this I thought that my eyes were playing tricks on me. I actually had to rewind it twice to make sure I wasn’t seeing double.

If you’re looking closely during the vault scene you can see lights in the back ground shinning through what appears to be the back of the vault. It is actually the camera crew’s lighting equipment using to light the vault area.

Serenity is a fun movie to watch, and if you are a fan of Sci Fi and like movies with a lot of action and a little comedy you will love it as much as I do. I do recommend that you also watch the series FireFly for the movie is a final act to what happens to the crew as they are being chased by the Alliance. If you get the chance to see it make sure you check out the extras on the DVD, the bloopers are hilarious and the crew’s comments are worth watching it again through their eyes. It is definitely one of my favorites to watch again and again.
