How To Incorporate Downward Dog Into Your Weekly Workouts
1. In the morning as part of a sun salutation.
2. After an intense interval cardio training session.
3. Before, during, or after a shoulder or leg workout.
4. Before bedtime especially if you have insomnia.
5. After full body circuit training.
Downward dog is also a great way to warm-up the body before a workout especially if you tend to workout after work. It releases tons of tensions that build up from sitting all day at a desk or in your car and is a very effective way to prep your body for movement. If you wear high heels it also lengthens tight calves and this can prevent knee injuries.
