AminoGenesis is a skincare company that focuses on the importance of amino acids in skincare and repair. For those that aren’t aware, amino acids are the “building blocks” of our body. All the amino acids in AminoGenesis's products are plant based and they do not test their products on animals.
Packaging
There are no fancy gimmicks here. No young lady on the package, just sleek sophistication in a gold and black box. I liked that it looked futuristic and scientific.
AminoGenesis Photolagen-AGF-$89 60mL
This product is a Penetrating Repair Serum. It's water based and includes glycerin in one of the first ingredients. The glycerin is a humectant which helps draw moisture into the skin.
The ingredients also include PAL-KTTS and Matrixyl both of which are a combination of amino acids and proven anti-aging ingredients.
Does it work?
This serum has a light yet tolerable fragrance and absorbs easily. You don’t need a lot of product, a teaspoon is more than enough for your entire face and neck.
And best of all, yes it works. Don’t expect to see results over night, I used this product for approximately six weeks and noticed that the lines around my eyes were improved. I did not notice as big a difference in my smile lines; however my oily skin seemed to be under control.
AminoGenesis Therapeutic Facial Repair-$44 50mL
This is touted as a Mega-strength Moisturizer. It is also water based, which absorbs quickly into the skin. It has other moisturizing ingredients such as Isopropyl Palmitate (a palm oil derivative) and glycerin. The first ingredient is an emollient which means it helps soften the skin. The rest of the ingredients are the amino acids which help rejuvenate and help repair the skin.
Does it work?
I like this product. I liked how soft it made my skin feel and that if I put it on in the morning, my skin still felt soft at the end of the day. So this moisturizer is definitely long lasting. My pet peeve with this product was the strong scent. It was too strong for my liking especially considering I was putting it on my face. I think it’s a fantastic moisturizer that would be better if they curbed the fragrance and included a spatula so I don’t have to dip my fingers into the product.
Overall
I liked the serum more than the moisturizer, my nose couldn't get over the strong scent. Although the product is pricey, you don't need alot and 1 bottle should last you 3 months.
