Being a Christian Bale fan is what encouraged me to go and see this movie. Not caring at all about the Batman films in the past I really didn’t know what to expect. The trailer made this movie seem truly realistic, which I find is of great importance to me. I didn’t have any history of the Batman character wondering how he could actually go around and fight off villains with no training and coming from such a rich and pampered background. This is what I found so believable about this movie. It shows you where the simple man, Bruce Wayne receives his training and how he learns it, and the hardships he endures while getting there.

Basically, what Batman is, is a very well trained and skilled Ninja. He joins a secret society of, in their eyes, vigilantes for doing good, but unfortunately later become the enemy. With a tremendous cast, this movie is worth watching and besides, the sequel, The Dark Knight is so good that you don’t want to miss it, and you need to watch the first one to know what’s going on in the second.

Enjoyment aside, here are some of the mistakes that I have found while watching this movie.

When the young Bruce Wayne, played by Gus Lewis, is taken to the police station after the death of his parents, Lt. Gordon, played by Gary Oldman, places a jacket around Bruce’s shoulders. At first the jacket appears smooth, but as Lt Gordon says, “it’s okay” for the second time the jacket suddenly has a large bulge on Bruce’s left shoulder. In the next shot, the jacket appears smooth again.

As Batman races to save Rachel, played by Katie Holmes, the police chase him. As he reached the roof of the parking lot, the Police Officer instructs him to turn off his engine and get out of the Batmobile. Later, as Batman is being chased through the tunnel, a Police Officer is asked to look out for the Batmobile. While talking on his radio, the Police Officer asks “what does it look like” and then states “never mind” he should not have had to ask since he is the Police Officer who asked him to turn of his engine in the first place.

I encourage anyone who has even the slightest interest, to watch Batman Begins; this movie puts a totally new and serious perspective on what the Batman must have been like in real life.
