The Chinese civilisation is one of the oldest existing civilisation in the world. The current population of Chinese people is over one-fifth of the world's population, and with their descendants spread across the globe, the Chinese culture is one of the most diverse culture in the world.

The long civilisation provides historical richness and spiritual depth to the culture, while the geographical diversity of the Chinese people and their descendants, adds interesting texture to the Chinese culture as a whole.

Rapid westernisation of the Asian countries since the 1970's have pushed traditional culture and more conventional practices of the Asian people into the background. However, in the recent years, the modernised Asian societies are beginning to feel the deficiencies in their way of life. Consequently, there is an upsurge of enthusiasm in Asia to preserve vanishing culture and revive the old practices.

In the coming months, join me as we move our lens into the lives of Chinese people around the world to understand their culture, perspectives, philosophies, belief systems and lifestyle choices, as conditioned by their ethnic background. We will look at how modern day Chinese people maintain their cultural identity in this globalised world, and their attempts to reintegrate the faded practices and traditions into their lives.

We will explore the daily life, customs and beliefs of the Chinese people as well as their very own perspective and insights on the subject. Where appropriate, there will be tips and suggestions for the readers to try out, so that you can share the experience of hundred of millions of Chinese around the world and the depth of this magnificent culture.
