BLT Salad

BLT Salad

  • 1/2 pound bacon
  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 packet Italian salad dressing mix
  • 1 small head Iceberg or Boston lettuce
  • 2 large tomatoes, seeded and chopped
  • 1-1/2 to 2 cups seasoned croutons
  • optional - 1/4 pound sliced Swiss Cheese - cut into thin strips

Preparation -
Fry the bacon until evenly browned. Drain, crumble, and set aside. Whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream and Italian salad dressing mix; set aside. Tear the lettuce into bite size pieces. Wash and dry the torn lettuce in a salad spinner, then place it in a large salad bowl. Arrange the seeded and chopped tomatoes, crumbled bacon, and croutons over the lettuce. Pour the prepared dressing over top. Toss, then serve immediately.
