Network Marketing in the 21st Century

Network marketing has changed tremendously with the advent of the internet. But one thing has remained constant, network marketing is still an intensely competitive field.

That’s why you need to employ improved strategies if you want to succeed in this field.

Network marketing has come a long, long way from the fifties, when it was first introduced as a viable business model. However, here are some things that have remained the same.
* It is still very important to provide good value to the people in your team.
* It is still observed that people at the top (uplines) help the people at the bottom (downlines). Sidelines help each other as well.
* Management is still of prime essence.
* It is extremely crucial to have your own standing and reputation if you are to make any kind of headway into this world.

What has changed are the methods - Methods of finding opportunities, methods of prospecting people and methods of keeping one step ahead of the competition have decidedly changed.

Prospects have become warier than they ever were. There are so many opportunities out there that it is difficult for them to decide which one to choose. Even if someone is thinking about starting a network marketing business, it isn't very easy to convince them of the value of what you have to offer because there are so many opportunities available to them.

However,despite this, network marketing still remains lucrative and that is one big draw for you to bring people toward your business.

One thing to keep in mind when building your downline, is to get people who will willing to not only network, but to actively market the product as well.


The days of pumping network with people who cannot market – read family and friends – should be over by now. Today’s network marketing businesses know that it is extremely important to have people in the team who can bring about the all-important sales.

The Internet has opened some powerful new avenues to not only market your products, but to gain new recruits as well.
