5 Reasons Why Jesus is the Meaning of Everything

1. Jesus is God the Son. God is the Supreme Being, the ultimate reality. All else in existence has meaning only in relation to Him. All beauty speaks of its Creator. All mystery hints at a Revealer of magnificent secrets. All suffering cries out for a Redeemer and Savior. All joy engenders gratitude, which needs Someone to whom we can give thanks. For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen! Romans 11:36

2. Jesus is the Creator. “All things were created through Him, and apart from Him not one thing was created that has been created.” He made the universe and everything in it. Thus, He owns and is sovereign over all creatures. But unlike an earthly kingdom, wherein residents might perhaps go live in a cave in the forest, avoiding the influence and interference of their sovereign, there is no corner of the universe outside the presence of Jesus, His omnipotence, His omniscience, and His love for us all. The Psalmist wrote, “Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there! If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me.”

3. God is love, and created us so He could love us and we could love Him. It’s an immense plan, so simple in concept, so extremely complicated as it unfolds through time, but it really is the best imaginable plan. What could be better than to live forever with an omnipotent God who loves you enough to give His life for you, and is the One who invented giraffes and otters and nebulae and diatoms and dolphins and strawberries. What could possibly be better than forever with such a Person?

4. Jesus chose to become human and pay our debt, which He knew we would incur before He created the first person. Jesus put skin on so we could see God’s love in person, and recognize our need for Him. He lived as we were created to live, in perfect harmony with His Father. He let us kill Him, but death couldn’t keep Him. He rose up from the grave, which event changed everything forever, promising a day when death will be conquered completely and permanently.

5. Everything would cease to be if He for one microsecond did not continue to sustain its existence."And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their pre-appointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and have our being …“ If that doesn’t amount to being the meaning of everything, I don’t know what possibly could.
