Back To School Photo Ideas

We are all thinking back to school these days. Here are some photo ideas to help you capture those back to school memories.

1. Every year I take a picture of my kids at the front door. I stand in the same place every year so that the photo shows how much the child has grown each year. You could also have your child stand by a tree or anything else that will help show the progression of size of the years.

2. I also take a picture each year of the kids walking to the car. I like to take a front shot and a shot from the back so I can see their backpacks. If your child rides the bus, take a picture of them getting on the bus.

3. Another fun photo idea is to take a picture of your child holding up fingers for the grade they are in.

4. I like to take a picture of my children in front of the school sign. This is especially good when they are starting a new school. I have one going into Middle School this year so I will take this shot when we go for the orientation.

5. Take photos of your child in their classroom, sitting at their desk, and with their new teacher.

6. Lay out all of the new school supplies and take a picture to include on their back to school page. It is always fun to see the backpack and new notebooks, etc!

7. My daughter always tries on lots of outfits to decide on her first day of school outfit. Take a photo of the process of deciding the perfect first day outfit!

8. Don't forget to get picture of your children with their coaches for their beginning of the year sports!

9. Take pictures of your children eating breakfast their first day of school. Do you have a first day of school breakfast tradition?

Don't fret if you forget to take pictures on the first day. In the hustle and bustle of getting back into a school routine it might happen. Restage the first day and take your pictures as close to the first day as possible. In a few years you will forget that it really wasn't the first day of school in those pictures!

Remember to say a prayer for all of the children heading back to school and for their teachers.
