Lucy and Susan Pevensie approach the Stone Table. Aslan’s dead body lies on the stone slab. His mane is sheared off. His magnificent golden brown body is cold. Ropes bind the sacrificial lion.

The Pevensie sisters sit by Aslan’s body. Grief racks their young bodies. Tears run down their cheeks. Field mice crawl over the lion. Susan and Lucy try to chase them away. They stop when they notice the friendly mice are gnawing the ropes, freeing the dead Aslan.

Lucy and Susan leave their dear friend, Aslan. Fatigue and sadness weighs heavily on the sisters. They go asleep in the woods near the Stone Table.

Dawn arrives, signaling a brand-new day. Lucy and Susan hear a loud crack. They run to the source of the sound, the Stone Table. They stare in disbelief. It is broken in half and Aslan’s body is gone!

Aslan, the creator of Narnia, in all his glory, stands high above on a plateau. He is alive! A joyful Lucy and Susan witness his resurrection. They run and bury their heads in his thick warm coat.

Aslan invites the girls to sit on his broad back. The girls climb on. He instructs the girls to cover their ears which they do. Aslan gives a mighty roar before romping about the fields. The lion and the girls are all smiles, for Aslan’s resurrection.
