Every year I have the problem of growing out of my family scrapbook. It worries me when I have three albums to hold one years memories. At this rate I will need to buy a seperate house to store my scrapbooks in by the time my children are grown!

I remember Becky Higgins talking about this problem many years ago at a Creating Keepsakes convention. It is something that has often been on my mind but I have never really known what to do to fix the problem. I started keeping albums for each of my children of special things. I just came across the idea of keeping a celebration album as a place for extended family layouts in an old Creating Keepsakes magazine. I totally LOVE this idea and can't believe I have never thought of it before, not to mention the fact that I probably even read the article many years ago!

My celebration album is broken up into different sections for each type of celebration. I have a birthday section that will hold pages about birthday parties of extended family members. I also have a Wedding section to put all of those pages of extended family and friends weddings. This should help slim down my yearly family albums. It will also be a neat way to look back at all of these celebrations in one place as well!

My celebration album has a title page that introduces that sections celebration such as birthday and wedding. Then I will have room to add the celebrations as they come.

I am really excited about this album because it will also be a place that I can go back and add pages from the many weddings of my friends that I have yet to scrapbook. I just didn't have a place to put these layouts so I never did anything with the pictures.

I think this will be an album that my kids will really enjoy as well. There are so many birthday parties of cousins and friends that we haven't scrapbooked yet either. I am excited to have my kids help get the pictures of their friends parties scrapbooked. I plan to make a celebrations album for each of them as well. That way they each have their own celebrations album to keep for their friends. It will be a while before they will need a wedding section for their friends though!
